I hear a fire or smoke alarm

Loud alarm within your apartment

If you hear a loud smoke alarm, verify if you see or smell any smoke or fire. If so, make one attempt to extinguish the fire with a fire blanket or fire extinguisher.

If the attempt failed, exit the room and close as many doors and windows as possible on your way out. This will help slow down the fire. Inform the emergency services from a safe place via the emergency number.

If there is no danger, then maybe dust, insects or water have caused the smoke detector to go off. Clean the detector with a dry cloth and make it dust-free with a vacuum cleaner. If the alarm persists, contact our Solutions Centre.

Loud alarm in the building

If the alarm is coming from outside the apartment, there may be smoke or fire somewhere in the building. Immediately leave the building without using the lift and contact our Solutions Centre.

You will find a fire alarm control unit in the entrance hall and/or near the parking garage entrance. The information on the display may help to identify the place of the smoke or fire.

Subtle, intermittent alarm in your apartment

If you hear an intermittent beep, then the smoke detector needs a battery replacement. This is your own responsibility as a tenant.

In case the smoke detector still beeps after a battery replacement, contact our Solutions Centre.
