Home Invest Belgium invests in sustainable, environmentally friendly buildings. If you live in a recently (renovated) building, it is possible that you experience poor network quality on your smartphone indoors. Fortunately, there are solutions for this.

Use Voice over WiFi

All Belgian operators support Voice over WiFi. This technology replaces the indoor coverage extenders that were sold by operators in the past.

If you have a compatible smartphone, your calls will automatically be routed over your WiFi connection instead of the mobile network if you have insufficient network coverage. This service is free of any additional cost at all Belgian operators.

Most recent Android smartphones and all iPhone 5c models and up support this technology.

To enable this technology on an iPhone: go to Settings > Phone > WiFi calling.
On an Android device, the setting can usually be found by going to Phone > tap the three dots in the corner > Settings > WiFi calling, although the exact path can depend on the manufacturer.

Watch out for illegal repeaters and range extenders

We would like to inform you that the use of network repeaters and extenders is prohibited in Belgium, except when installed by your phone operator. This is also why we are unable to improve the mobile coverage in our buildings ourselves. We refer you to the regulations of the IBPT if you want more information.
