Cinema space

Modified on Wed, 22 Nov, 2023 at 7:33 PM

Our building The Horizon features a fully equipped cinema space with complimentary Netflix account. On this page, you'll find how to use this service and how to solve common problems.

Using the cinema space

To use the cinema space, you have two options:

  • Using the HOMI Tenant App, go to Services and make a reservation for the cinema space. This reservation is free and guarantees you can use the cinema space privately.
  • If nobody else has booked the cinema space, you can also just walk in between 8:00 and 22:00. Just keep in mind that somebody who books the space, should receive priority in using the room.

House rules

The Cinema Room is open daily from 8:00 to 22:00.

The tenant is responsible for the reservation, use of the equipement and any external guests.

No nuisance should be caused to the co-residents under any circumstances.

Minor users must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

In case of damage/theft, costs will be charged to the tenant. In case the tenant cannot be recognized, the cost will be charged to the common charges. We therefore count on your solidarity with your fellow tenants.

After each use, the room must be left in an impeccable and clean condition.

How to connect your own device

If you want to connect your own computer or other device, you can use the HDMI cable on the first shelf. This HDMI cable is connected to the GAME input on the amplifier. We insist you do not detach any other cables to connect your own device.

  1. Start the amplifier

    2. Press the orange power button to power on the device
    3. Press the blue circle button GAME to select the right input

You can control sound with the Pioneer remote or on your device.

Please do not try to connect your device to any other input to not discomfort other residents.

Solving common issues

Video isn't working

If the screen remains black, follow these steps to try and resolve the issue:

  • Check if "HDMI1" is displayed in the bottom left corner of the screen. If nothing is displayed, the projector is probably not turned on properly: use the blue power button on the remote to enable the device. If another input is shown, take the Epson remote and press HDMI1. If the remote is malfunctioning, you can also power on the device with a hardware button on the beamer itself.
  • The amplifier centralizes all video inputs and then connects to the beamer using one HDMI cable. Make sure you selected the right channel on the amplifier (BD for BluRay or Netflix, or CBL for TV). Power the amplifier off and on if you still encounter issues.
  • Although we kindly ask our residents to not touch the cabling, some cable might have been deconnected or wrongly reconnected. Please don't change the cabling yourself and contact our Solution Centre, unless you're 100% sure of what you're doing.

Audio isn't working

If you don't hear any sound, please try the following things:

  • Take the Pioneer remote and increase the volume a little, to make sure it's not just muted.
  • If this didn't help, check the display of the Pioneer amplifier. The display should show an at the right, to indicate it's using the HDMI input as an audio source. If something else is shown here, press the Audio Sel button in the upper right corner of the remote multiple times, until the display shows the letter H.
  • Try turning the amplifier off and on.
  • Although we kindly ask our residents to not touch the cabling, some cable might have been deconnected or wrongly reconnected. Please don't change the cabling yourself and contact our Solution Centre, unless you're 100% sure of what you're doing.

Netflix isn't working

If Netflix isn't working, here's what you can try:

  • Try to power off and on the BluRay player using the remote.
  • Check if you have a WiFi connection in the cinema or your private apartment. If there's any internet outage, Netflix will not function.
  • Try turning the amplifier off and on.
  • Although we kindly ask our residents to not sign out of the Netflix account that is configured, there's always a risk somebody has done so. In this case, please contact our Solution Centre.
